With more than 40 years of experience in newspaper journalism, Martin brings authority, credibility and storytelling depth to every collaboration.

For more than 40 years I have been writing about places, people, food and culture — telling stories that go beyond the obvious and uncover the character of a destination.

My work has appeared extensively in regional and national newspapers and continues to appear weekly in the Western Morning News and Western Daily Press, where I have built a loyal readership through a distinctive, narrative-led approach to travel writing.

Alongside my journalism, I am the author of fiction and travel-inspired writing, and a member of the British Guild of Travel Writers. Through this website, I continue to explore the landscapes, communities and culinary traditions that define the places I visit.
