Cider with a Conscience: Sandford Orchards to Host Big Music Night for Uganda Water Project

There is something inherently communal about a cider farm, but on March 21st, Sandford Orchards is stretching that sense of community all the way from Crediton to Uganda. The acclaimed Devon cidermaker has announced a major fundraiser at The Cider Works to support the charity Edukid, with a goal that is as clear as a crisp pint of Devon Red: funding a borehole to provide 800 children with safe, clean water.
For one night only, the industrial charm of the warehouse and tap room will be transformed into a concert venue. The evening features The Bicycle Repair Man, known for a high-energy set of original tracks and uniquely "twisted" covers that are guaranteed to get feet moving among the fermentation vats.

A Rare Peek Behind the Scenes
While the main event promises a lively atmosphere, the evening offers a particularly special draw for cider enthusiasts. Sandford Orchards is releasing a strictly limited run of 20 VIP tickets. These include an intimate, behind-the-scenes tour of the facility hosted by founder Barny Butterfield.
It is a rare opportunity to step inside the "engine room" of one of the UK’s most successful independent cideries. Guests will gain access to the tank room, blending spaces, and the bottling area—parts of the operation usually strictly off-limits to the public.
The tour culminates in a curated tasting in the private tasting room overlooking the works, where Barny will lead guests through a selection of
their finest ciders, paired with artisan cheese and charcuterie platters, before they join the main party for the live music.
